About Damian Connolly FCCA
Damian is an ACCA qualified accountant whose career has taken him from offshore tax advisory right through to the senior management board of a £40m recruitment services group. When he moved to London, he took on a Group Financial Controller role within a property services business that grew at speed to become a £65m group of companies spanning the UK, Europe and Asia, and he was instrumental in a vendor due diligence project that led to a formal offer of £80m for that business.
From there, Damian moved into a similar role within a £45m UK media and content agency that had recently been acquired by private equity. With a suite of household UK and international brands, the business developed operations across South Africa, Asia and the Middle East before it too was acquired, this time by a competitor agency.
Today, Damian brings all of that experience to entrepreneurs and SMEs across the UK and Ireland through Sakura, supporting business owners either as a Fractional Finance Director or CFO, or through early exit planning, so that their businesses become more profitable, more resilient and more valuable on the journey to being exit ready.
